If you can get a very small screwdriver between the drain plug and the bowl you can put a little pressure on the screwdriver to push the drain plug out while turning it.
That works sometimes. Be careful not to damage the bowl with the screwdriver.

Drilling a small hole in the center of the drain plug, enlarging it with a larger drill bit until it comes out also works.
Go slow enlarging the hole so as not to damage the threads in the bowl, those threads might still be ok.

I would not be comfortable with a bad drain bowl plug, leaving it in would not be an option for me personally.
