    First thing would be to let us know what year and whether your 850 is an "L".

      You mentioned a 4 gal. tank, that is the tank size for a "GL" model. The "G" tanks were a little over 5 gal.

        Also, the GSX-ET as called in the UK and I believe it's GS1100 in the US also fit, I have 2 GS1000's one of which is a 1000c with wire wheels and the GSX tank fits no problem.

        The only thing you will need to watch is the mountings on the rear of the tank, some are single mounting and some are duel mounting.

        The tanks holds slightly less fuel but I do like the look of them if you are not after a concourse bike.
