Rear wheel flange crack

    This has made me take a closer look at the wheels I have here, igoldin74. This '80 850G wheel has that same cracked appearance.

    Rotating it around though, I can see indications of it just being a metal plating that's worn or chipped off. There is no crack.

    I'm so sorry I didn't simply look at it before.

    Say, you mentioned that new spline joint come on the extra wheel you ordered. If so that alone made it worthwile.

        The hub is pressed into the aluminum wheel, then the wheel and hub turned together. What you see is the mating seam of the two different metals. JMO Was a machinist for 30 years. The second and third picture show the alignment tooth of the hub.
