    anybody else sporting a stent?

I had a recent medical situation. Saturday night I had bad heartburn that wouldn't go away. Tums didn't work, looked up on internet and tried baking soda in water, Yech! No help. Figure it was something serious, fed cat and bird next days food and told them I was going to ER hope to see them soon.
I drive to ER and park 30 yards from the entry. I go inside, and with about 15 people there, including two cops, I'm next in line. There are two women behind the plexiglass, one dealing with a not very responsive 20 something who may have been on drugs. The other woman was on the phone. I'm leaning on the counter, debating whether to say "I'm having a heart attack." while hoping someone will ask me something. I kept looking from one woman to the next and finally the second woman puts down the phone and asks if she can help me. I tell her I'm having a heart attack and put my license and insurance card on the counter. I must have been in their system because she asked me to confirm my phone #. She asked me more questions and I just kept pointing to the cards. someone came out with a wheelchair. Things happened fast after that. Hooked up to EKG, Doc comes in, tells me I'm having a heart attack and will go to the Catheter room. I woke up in the middle of the procedure to everyone talking excitedly and WHAM! I got the Shocker! I must have been on some good drugs because no pain, but I did levitate a good bit. Go back under
Woke up to find I had 2 stents put in. I had a STEMI heart attack. I've been told it's nickname is "the widowmaker"
Anyways, I came home Tuesday just after noon with a fistfull of prescriptions. The system ain't perfect but the DR.s and nurses did alright by me. Admissions people must be real jaded. heheh

Glad to hear it all worked out in your best interest.

Hey, why is it that we are both living in Omaha but have never met? We must meet up one of these days over a cup of coffee and get acquainted.

PM me if you are up for it and we can pick a time and place.

Glad you are OK. I work in Cath Lab as a Materials Specialist and have heard that word "STEMI" quite a bit...didn't know it was referred to as the "widow maker".

It's amazing what they can do in Cath Lab. Thanks for sharing your story.
