    Default Here we go again

    Hello all,
Well, since I got my red 83GS750E running I guess it's time to start working on the Hi Ho Silver. Same make and model.
Its in similar condition so I'm not expecting too many surprises. Yeeeeahhh....riiight

So, previous owner had removed the cam chain tensioner, then forgot and rotated the engine with a wrench. Intake cam promptly
jumped about 7 teeth. No other issues. I reset the cam and got ready to reinstall the tensioner. Now, lets see.....where did I leave those
BRAND NEW gaskets ???? Oofah ! In my genius, I apparently threw them away. Doh !!
So, bike is sitting while I await new gaskets. Plenty of other things to do though.

Did you buy that from Charlie G on here? That moss on the tank looks familiar.

Actually I did. But didn't buy it. He actually gave it to me. Nice guy. I hope he doesn't know something terrible about this bike
and forgot to mention it. Lol

Nice. If I recall he bought it as project then it sat. He was a regular here a while back.

    UPDATE
I got tired of waiting for gaskets so I made my own. Installed tensioner and checked cam timing. Spot on.
Next I adjusted all the valves. All the intakes were just a tiny bit tight. Fixed that. Hooked up my jump box and
verified the motor cranks on the start button. Everything inside looks good. Today I'm going to do some more odds
and ends while I wait for parts.

    Another Update
Proper gasket finally arrive so I re installed the tensioner with them. New spark plug cap and new plugs. Coils back in and.....
    I HAVE spark ! WOOT!!!
Next up, painting the exhaust and converting to a Polaris rectifier.
