    I thought the spectators in Baja (1000 etc) were nuts!?
    Is this for real?

        It's a real problem that all Rally events have been trying to deal with for years. There are certainly times when drivers have got it wrong & wiped out spectators... the drivers don't like it either!

          Those Finnish spectators are extremely safety-conscious and well clear compared to their Italian and Sicilian counterparts.
