    Repair cracked tool tray?

The good: the 850G I bought 2 years ago came with an above-the-battery tool tray. Hooray!

The bad: It's cracked rather badly in three places.

The ugly: I tried repairing it with 5-minute epoxy and apparently that's not at all the right stuff. Whoopsie. It did not adhere to the plastic at all despite sanding the surface to give it some tooth. And once dried it was very brittle.

What's the right product or process to use here?

I know the side covers are ABS but I don't know my plastics well and this piece has no markings. It feels a bit more pliable than the side covers.

Looks like ABS. I’d try ABS Black plastic cement. Find it in the plumbing aisle of your local hardware store.

I'm not familiar with that particular part, but I thought the tool tray was made from something like polyethylene. The material that truck bed liners are made of. A softer and more flexible material than ABS, as used on side covers.

BTW, epoxy sticks well on ABS but not so well on polyethylene.

Whatever it is, please be sure to report back if you find a good way to fix it.

Plain old Permatex black silicone sealer/gasket maker works wonders, dries rubbery, never brittle & if needed can peel it off with a knife. It probably won't hold 837 lbs. but for something like that tool tray, should be good to go. Will easily fix that square hole too...Just my opinion.

Thanks! I'll look into that. To confirm, that would be this stuff, right? https://www.menards.com/main/tools-h...4117088&ipos=1
