    Oil pressure switch

Hi, can someone point out if the 3 indentations on the disc at the bottom of the switch face upwards or downwards.
yep I took it off I thought the indentations faced up but there again why would they be there if facing upwards

Thanks, I thought that was the way, am I correct in thinking that when the engine is stopped the bottom disc makes earth and the oil light is on and when the oil pressure rises it lifts the disc and breaks the earth circuit and the light extinguished?

Yes, and a fairly small volume of oil should be enough to lift the disk.

The lifting is more about volume than it is about pressure.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.
