    77 GS750 Compression test readings

    Hi,

I picked up 77 gs750 a few months ago with 14k it it runs good but blow's smoke on a clod startup probably needs valve seals. I did a compression test to see what else is going on and have some strange feedback with the carbs off the test showed 60 PSI for all four cylinders I checked test kit and it is spot on. I have done compression test's before and have never seen results like this. If anybody has and ideas let me know.

    Thank You

Was the engine warm and the throttle held wide open while testing? Is the gauge accurate. And did you make sure all the valve clearances were in spec before testing? The last part is crtical because so many people don't do maintenance and the valves may not be seating correctly and have carbon on the sealing surfaces.
