    Starter problem fixed...

I picked up an 1982 GS1100L this week from the net and got a good deal on it.I played around with the wiring, kill switch, kickstand switch, clutch switch.Solenoid checked out ok.So why wasn't this thing starting?!I had power to everything! After closer and meticulous inspection,i realized that it was missing the small copper contact that goes between the starter switch plastic and the starter spring. What i ended up doing is cutting a small piece of 1/4" copper tubing, then splitting it down the middle and flattening it out. Then i sanded it to the shape of the button.I popped the middle of the copper with a nail so the copper would make correct contact.Tah-dah..switch works!I know it sounds like alot of trouble to go to,but it was free! And i didn't have to wait for a part!...IF i could find it.....
