      Oh I understand that.....

But, I get plenty of tragedy naturally, no need to use artificial means....

I get that. As someone who teaches ancient literature, and as a lover of fantasy literature such as The Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, etc., I find that allowing my heart to explore the concept of tragedy in the fictional universe, where there is a buffer for consideration of consequence, makes me better able to deal with tragedy when it presents itself in the real world.

It doesn't take much to get me emotional, even the Linda Ronstadt special on CNN had me tearing up, but get emotional over fantasy films....nah....never happens.

I definitely get emotional over both reality and fantasy.

I'm with you. Been there done that, more than once too often. The pursuit of more will teach me nothing.

I've buried seven students as a teacher, seen jail cell suicides, and lost both parents. I find great value in tragedy in fiction.

I recognize, as with many things, there is value in it for some. I don't need to learn a lesson 20 times to further my appreciation of the significance. It's a tragedy and there is a reason why it's called that. heh

Not our normal thing, absolutely terrible, uneven, silly, and confusing, but it will take your mind away for a while.
And we laughed a lot. A whole lot.....

Do NOT watch Wonder Woman 1984. You’re welcome. I like superhero movies, even silly ones like Thor Ragnorak and Aquaman. But WW 1984 was just awful.
