    Track Day Gingerman Raceway PICS!

Wellsmw and I did our second track day of the year at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven Michigan in early August. The day was sponsored by a small dealer in Chicago, Motoworks Chicago. They have sponsored a track day for the past six years or so and it is mainly geared for street riders so the pace and aggression levels are less than most track days. It was a lot of fun and very tiring! They ran two gorups so we had seven or eight (can't remember excatly) 30 minute track sessions. That's more time on track than MotoGP racers get in a race weekend! Motoworks also had a photographer and included a DVD of all the photos she took in the price of the track day. I just got my DVD today and posted the pics of Mark and me on SmugMug.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

    Enjoy!

        Brian,

There were plenty of shafties at this track day. Motoworks is a BMW shop and there were plenty of Beemers on the track that day.

        Thanks,
        Joe

          Or "L" models.

Joe, that looks like a blast. From the photos it looks like Mark was able to wear textile pants and you had both had all your headlights & signals taped off. What else did you have to do to your bikes and what gear requirements did they have for you to be able to run.

            Tim,

Since this track day is sponsored by the shop the gear requirements are somewhat relaxed vs. normal track days. All they require are jacket and pants with armor (no mesh), boots that cover the ankles, helmet, and gloves. Lights and mirrors must be taped and the bike must pass tech.

            Thanks,
            Joe
