I've put a few miles on the Pirelli's on dry roads and in the rain. They are easily the best tires I've ever run on! Well worth the money.

Don't buy D404's. They are excellent in all aspects except wear. I've had several and never got more than 7K out of the rears. However, I decided to try a Dunlop GT501 rear on my '81 1000G. 3k on it so far and wear seems to be excellent. Not too keen on buying anything Chinese if I have a choice. Too many folks I know put out of work because their employer got priced out of business by cheap offshore labor.

Need help in deciding what type of tire I should use.
My local dealers are trying to sell me the Dunlops D404.
I do not know anything about tires .
I would not mind spending alittle more for maybe a better quality tire.
I would appreciate any advise on tire make and model noting that I believe the front and rear tires should be the same model and make.

Need tires for 1996 Suzuki Intruder 800cc - front tire 80/90-21, rear tire 140/90-15.

dunlop k491 elite II's, wear like iron, good in rain, acceptable grip at 12,000 miles (half left), made in usa.

no longer available (maybe still be available at some stores) replaced by elite III's.

"Made in USA"? I almost bought E-II's or III's but liked what I saw in the specs for the GT501's. If I can find something made here, I can afford it & its a good quality product, I'll buy it.
