I always use them for cleaning used brass shells for my ammo reloads. I was amazed how well they work. Even with just water and no solution! When i did carbs in one i used a reduced degreaser in it and it worked amazingComment

Thanks Ray, its good to get feedback on what works from professionals. I would have gotten my money's worth this summer dealing with my Yamaha carbs. I am looking for something that takes a whole rack of carbs. You can disassemble the FZ1 rack into individual carbs but the experts say they are very difficult to get back together.http://www.ebay.com/itm/14-5L-3-83-G...item46194d35e6
This one looks like the replacement for the one I have. This one is a little bigger in capacity but only a little. WELL worth the money to have one! You rebuild 3 or 4 sets of carbs & it will pay for itself. Once you have used one you will never go back to dipping carbs either! Ray.
Using the chem dip / pokey wire cleaning method I would say I was only successful with one of the cleanings I did this summer.
I hate ethanol and politicians that promote it.Comment

I have one and am happy with it, the only thing I suggest is as soon as you get it take the plastic off and seal between the top where the plastic and tank are if not moisture gets inside and they are short lived . I found out the hard way. sealed the second one with rvt and have had it a couple years now still going good . You do have to get creative with hanging the parts so they are not touching the tank for best results.http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NEW-2-5L-ULTR...c01dc30&_uhb=1 been looking at this a while.Since getting a Carbtune is being a PITA I'm thinking of getting this instead.Anybody got one?Comment

Parts should not sit on the bottom of the tank, as it weakens the ultra sonic waves as I have been told. I have a couple different thing s I use to suspend the parts in the tank. I have noticed hanging the parts does seam to make it work alittle better One thing a did notice if you don't hang the parts you see very little noticeable motion in the fluid/ water/ cleaner what ever you using your cleaner, but if you hang your parts you can actually see the action. Also we are not using them on jewelry but have been told by a former member / jewelry maker that if parts touch each other they will vibrate against one another and make marks.Comment

yes mine came with that also. Try it by hanging the parts. I've had mine a couple years and tried alot of different thingsComment

That does make sense from a sound wave point of view. I'll try it next time.Comment

Is that a plastic basket? Because I've been told plastic absorbs too many ultrasonic waves & only stainless should be used. Makes sense to me as all the better quality ones (not Chinese) come with a metal basket.Comment
