Washing soda works great,grittier than the stuff used for baking.Just be sure to sieve it before use. -
Ping Rob (azr) I believe he's used washing and baking soda on his restorations, think he recommends Arm & Hammer....It's smoke that make electronic components work.
Every time I've let the smoke out by mistake, they never work again.

I'm thinking maybe the actual blasting media might be coarser, or harder or something? I used washing soda once, it worked but not real well. Maybe the blasting stuff is better.Comment

I went to the local farm supply store and bought a bag of Sodium Bicarb, same as baking soda but a little coarser. They use it as a mineral substitute for dairy cows.Comment

My soda blast guy, who does it for a living is using Arm & Hammer. He tells me it comes in different grits for different applications.Comment
