Photo Bucket attempt to redeem themselves, renewal deadline Nov 30th 2018

I needed to find an old photo today so I logged into my Photo Bucket account, well it seems they have tried to redeem themselves from the big mess they made by unlinking everyone photos who did not have a paid account.

The offer that popped up was a lot more reasonable than the $400 a year ransom they wanted back when all they first started unlinking photos.

Well today I gave them another chance and renewed my membership, $48.38 US$ year for an unlimited account (1TB), the offer was good till Nov 30th and the amount is locked in forever at that rate.

The regular price for an unlimited account shows $123.96 per year if paid in advance.

I never thought I would pay them a penny after the grief they caused, but I guess i'm getting soft in my old age.

Well if anyone else wants back in, now's the time and if not that's OK too.

    David.

I just auto-renewed this month...$59.99 for the year.

I didn't go through that situation people have discussed because I was already paying them annual fee; I did not like the pop-ups.

I have been with them for 6 years or so and when the whole price gouging began I was already paying $2.99 a month ... I have continued to pay that and I have never had my disrupted. Weird

Makes you wonder if it's changed ownership... or maybe the crazy $400 was just a tactic to make everyone feel relief at the $4.... Either way I don't like what they did

No thanks! They totally screwed up multiple forums I belong to. There will be no forgiveness....

ImageShack is very reasonable at $3.99 a month, and Flickr is still a great option.

Photobucket did screw us over. I see no need to go back.

Flickr is going to be charging at the first of the year as well. Totally closed PB, and to avoid having to hassle with my pictures again, I'll pay the Flickr rate. I can't remember what it is.

Lucky you, it appears you don’t have the photo bucket watermark on your pictures either

Google photos is free and unlimited if you choose the mild compression option.

I tried using google photos but could not figure out how to link photos. I would link the photos in a post here but only I could see them and only when I was logged into my google account. I liked the interface, just could not get it to work. I now use Imgur. It's free and actually has some useful editing tools.

To tell you the truth I hadn't looked yet. I had thought about looking through my old threads to see if they were watermarked, just never got around to it.

I really do feel it's a result of their get 10Gb?? hosting space when you signed up for their mobile app. I still use it to upload my pictures. It's a case of don't rock the boat.
