Ha! Mark sent me the link to that bike within minutes of it going up on Marketplace, guess he thought that my 1250 needed a friend? Glad it found a caring home.

I've had my eye out for another for many years....

Lol he sent it to a few of us. I got the guy to call me and I told him I’m on my way. He said it’s yours you contacted me first. Honestly besides the Cooley the best deal I’ve ever gotten.

Nice score. Good luck keeping that front tire on the ground. Hopefully that one doesn't have the oil burning problem my 2001 had.

If it does, a Holeshot big bore will be in order!

It's funny....the bike I was riding when I had my accident was a 2004 Bandit 1200S just like this one...on a Friday I ordered from Dale at Holeshot new exhaust and jet kit for it....on Monday it got totalled....I called him from my hospital room to see if I could cancel it, and luckily he had not shipped yet. Lol

Dale is a great guy with a deep connection to those bikes. I've been looking at a '99 here off and on, but if I were to buy it, I'd need to sell the Harley, since it would become an obsession.

Pilot, I know you've seen my opinion before, but owning both, I like my "99" a lot better than my 2005. It feels 40 lb. lighter, more agile, and comfortable to ride, not going to mention the more comfy seat. I'd like to ride an "02", just to see if it's more like a "99" or an "05". No doubt the "05", with their blue/white paint, looks waaaay better than any other Bandit. Talked with Dale, back when I got my "05", about raising the "05" handlebars about 3", he said lots of folks were wanting to raise them. At the time he was putting together a kit for doing it, hose extensions, wire harness extensions, taller bars, the appx. price he quoted, I just didn't call him back about it. Did get, and do love, the gear position indicator from him, looks factory, brings back memories of riding the old GS's.

I've said it before, the Harley is a really wonderful bike with a ton of character. The Evo motor is as reliable as anything Japan has created, and with 90 hp and 80+ lb ft of torque, it's a quick bike.

Now, having said that, I do think I could see getting a Buell with an EVO motor.

Although I prefer the look of the tube frame Buells, the XB series was pretty damned great.
