Just after some safety advice. Have a 1979 1000S witht he original seat. The seat just has plastic underneath. That doesnt look very safe to bolt the hand rail onto? Is there a metal frame that the bike should have? If so does anyone have one please? Newbie and TIA.

The stock seat pan is metal. Sounds like you have an aftermarket pan. Your seat pan should be similar or identical to the other GS1000 seat pans. You may be able to find a whole seat to salvage the pan you need.Last edited by Nessism; 02-06-2025, 07:40 AM.Ed
