SV650 vs GS series interchange
Are there any parts from a 2001 Suzuki SV650 that would fit on an ‘81 GS bike? There’s one for sale in my area dirt cheap. I was thinking the front forks and brakes would be worth it if they’re compatible with our bikes.Current Bikes:
2019 Indian Chieftain Classic
1981 Suzuki GS750E
Past Bikes:
2018 Indian Chief Dark Horse
2017 Indian Scout
2006 Suzuki C50Tags: None

Depends on how you define "compatible". A better word might be "adaptable".
Regarding the forks/brakes, the SV guys used to ditch those forks and install GSXR forks and brakes. And GS bikes are much heavier, so not sure about the damping rates.Ed
To measure is to know.

Gotcha…it was a passing thought. I noticed the calipers were a dual piston I believe. That part caught my attention as the gs is only a single.Last edited by nutz4spd; 05-16-2025, 09:30 AM.Current Bikes:
