    Mechanic registry

I was just chatting with my friend Mike, who has a YouTube page The Mighty Garage, where he fixes 50s-60s-70s British bikes.
He also does features on interesting old bikes, like my 78 1000. A reader of TMG commented on the feature of my GS about how he owns 3 GS bikes, but cant find a mechanic to work on them and asked for my advice.
I was not too helpful, as I do the majority of my own work.

But, it got me to thinking. I know most of us do our own work, aided by this forum, Cliffs site and Brian.
But, I think it would be a great service to new and future GS owners if we developed a mechanics registry by state so the new people could get help keeping their bikes running.

Could one of you computer people develop a format, by state for the US and Canada, then by country for our worldwide members?

I think this would be a great boost to our cause. Yes, I know taking your bike to a mechanic is costly, but, its better than nothi g.

I like the idea. Even mechanics that only do one particular thing.. brakes, forks, carbs, cylinders, heads, paint, etc. I've called around a couple times when I thought I was in over my head and always got "nope that's too old for me to work on".

Admittedly I don't have anything to add to this list, but I'm sure some of those on here do have "a guy" or maybe is "the guy".

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
