    High Miles?

    Hey guys!
What would be considered high miles for the GS1100E machines?
I realize how a bike has been maintained has a lot to do with longevity, but is there a number--20;000, 30,000, 100,000 miles-- that would be considered high mileage?

    Thanks!

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

If it's over 40k, make enquiries of the owner how often the oil has been changed.
With 2K or 3K changes, these engines last for moon-distances.

In this part of the world 100,000 to 150,000 km is considered normal mileage for an 1100E. My GS1100G had 420,000 km and still going strong when I sold it to a friend who was keen to have a well maintained 1100G for riding to Bike Rallays. One of my 1982 1100 Katana (it's the one in my Avatar )has 215,000 km and still gets used weekly. Maintenance and regular use helps to keep these older bikes running well, store them away or neglect to care for them and things start to go pear shaped.
