I actually did something today... put the stock 17.5 pilot jets back in and set the mixture screws 2.5 turns out then primed the carbs... haven't started her yet to see if that gets rid of the bogging, maybe tomorrow.

Finished bracing the rear end of the Mk.II frame tonight. Moving onto the front tomorrow.

      Quite pleased with the result.

Today, I changed the oil and filter in the Solara. The final drive oil, the transmission oil, and the engine oil in the RT was also changed. After that, I rewarded myself with a 90 minute ride into the Hill Country on it for a cup of coffee.

Lets see I wrenched on a project Gs500 street fighter , I am helping another member with. We are in process of building a custom undertail exhaust for it. I have only seen a pic of one other 500 with one so we figured dare to be different.

No wrenching as such but I *did* get out for about a 30km round trip to pick something up and see how the stock pilot jets felt. Night and day difference! Still a touch boggy when opening the throttle but idle is so much better and I can stop at lights in traffic with confidence... huge difference! I have to wind the idle down a touch now actually...

For no apparent reason replaced the high tension leads, and spark plugs.

I swear it runs better, or maybe thats in my head.

Hi to all, well the Katana fork and anti-dive rebuild rolls on. I ordered the up-graded fork springs from Ikon last Monday and yesterday I dropped off the fork inner tubes to be ground back and hardchromed. If all goes well I should have the springs and tubes back in about two weeks. The new front brake disc's and pads have been installed so now its just wait for the parts to arrive. Shed photo time, cheers.

I reckon you're gonna love those Ikons Glen! Very happy with mine

Where you getting the chroming done? Rocklea? (Forgotten the name of the mob now)

And what did you do for discs? I got a newie from Metal Gear at Brendale and it seems to be pretty good.

Your friend on the wall looks pretty impressed too

Hi Pete, Yeah the tubes are at RAD Hardchroming in Rocklea, their nice and straight so its just the hardchroming to be done to remove four score marks in each leg put in by a P.O. Looks like they tried to hold the tubes in a vise or clamp of some kind going by the uniform marks on each leg.

I had a spare set of front and a rear genuine disc with 5.00 mm on them so they should pull her up O.K. compared to the waffers that came off. Geoff at Ikon rang me to-day to confirm the spec's for the springs I think thats good customer support and the cost for the custom made springs is not that much more than an off-the-shelf set. I like to have company when I am working in the shed and she seems to like being around the Kat so its all good, cheers mate.

Nothing super exciting today..just put a rebuild kit in the 78 1000Cs petcock..the gaskets that go over the screws arent here yet so will just wait to reinstall and check.
