I had an '82 GPz 1100 that smoked, had the cylinders honed at a shop, put in new rings, and it smoked worse. Maybe they didn't check if the cylinders were out of round. I had it bored out and put in Wiseco 75mm pistons to make it 1166cc. Perfect. The EFI adapted to it without a hitch. Happy ending, but what a pain. Hope all's good with yours.

      Tell us more (pics)?

I shouldn't be surprised, knowing you. It’s just that certain models catch my attention.

In 1982, I would have liked to have a GPz1100, but being that I had just taken delivery of my brand new Indy Pace Car Z28, I made due with my '73 Z1.
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

You never did find your G-Spot, eh Glen/Ken?

Thanks Tom. I'll post the results after she's run in. Fitted new rings and a hone + valve seals on the 750 two years ago and no smoke, no top up between oil changes. Used a special running in to assist with ring seating and was careful varying the revs and loading and unloading rings for the first 600 mi or so. Will repeat this process.

I used Lucas break in oil (oh no, oil thread incoming?) on my Norton N15CS, and basically did what you are saying. You know what's up, it'll be fine I bet.
