I agree. I have always been under the impression that a "cafe racer" was stripped down. Anything that did not make the bike go faster, stop quicker or handle better was deemed "unnecessary" and removed.
This starts with a large, heavy shaft-driven bike (Tom will be pleased that it was an L), then adds stuff.
Saddlebags and some sort of leather skirting over carbs:

Well, he didn't hack the hell out of it, and he isn't asking a million bucks. If the "extra" parts and seats that come with it are everything it is missing? Then maybe not such a bad deal... Looking beyond the fact that it's an L of course...'83 GS 1100T
