I did that on my scooter one year. Covered the swap meet quickly, and turned down several offers to buy the scoot.

Its ok. When you hit that first bump and the frame bends, the cut ends of the subframe will pinch and puncture the rear tire, bringing the bike to a stop, there by avoiding a Darwin Moment.Comment

He kept the original bars and switch.gauge set-up (good.) Notice the front brake lever is bent in just that special way (bad.)
