I ride that road a couple of time a year. I thinks it's a little over 200 miles for me to go to Happy Camp, then to Obrien, to Grants pass and then down I-5 to my house. There is a little road that can take just before Grants Pass, that I've yet to try, that might offer a partial reprieve from a little bit of freeway. Nice ride!Originally posted by Carter Turk View PostSo is that Hwy 96? Have you ever taken the road from the Sasquatch in Happy Camp to Grants Pass?sigpic

I was told that it hit 93 the day before. We've had a couple of days in the low 80's. Mostly 60's right now. I left the house at 8:30 and by the time it was to get warm I was on the coast, which is cool. When it's hot, you just turn up the A/C control on the right hand side of the handle bars. A good twist gets it blowing good on a 1100g.Originally posted by gustovh View PostI remember riding that road with you Charlie, was pretty warm that day.

I recall you saying you might be out this way sometime this summer. I can show you some of the very few curvy roads (amoung all the straight ones) and maybe a couple with views of the big lake.Originally posted by Charlie G View Post..

Went for a 375 mile jaunt today. Rain threatening but only rode through maybe 15 minutes of light drizzle total there and back. If I'm not mistaken, I got 52 mpg on 90 ethanol free on the way there, and 40 on 10%-92 on the way back. Rode a bit harder on the way back. Went over North Cascades Hwy 20 from Bellingham to Winthrop. 188 miles when I filled up 3.6 gallons, hadn't hit reserve yet. Not bad for a 3mm over big bore. Weird when I got back I put 4.6 @187.
Was nice to get a long ride in, the pass just opened the day before.

That's definitely one of my favorites routes. Isn't that a really early opening? Winter ended here quite early too.Originally posted by Carter Turk View PostWent for a 375 mile jaunt today. long day of motorcycling activities yesterday. my brother is quite obsessed with his new concourse so he's always in my grill to ride. started out down at seneca allegheny casino. parked at the top of the parking garage for fun. 8th floor.

then wandered around little rock city state forest and even did some old guy rock climbing.

most of the riding was cold as .... but who cares right? i did notice a little wobbliness in the turns. seems i need new front bearings. always somethin....2002 bmw r1150gs 1978 gs1000E skunk les pew 1982 GS1100

5500' At Washington Pass. Not super high, but for the Cascade concrete snow we get, some of the snow banks were still about 5-6'.Originally posted by Redman View Postnola comperhendia

4.6 gallons of gas yielded 187 miles.
