That one is a late 40's/early 50's Montgomery Wards. It's pretty nice, only bad thing is it's a ***** to restart when hot.It does run nice though, just sips fuel. I get alot of people wanting to talk when It's on the boatOriginally posted by mottyl View PostI like that old boat motor. I have a 1 or 2 hp Viking in the basement, your pic might just inspire me to see if it will run.
Chris
I also have a 5hp Briggs air cooled, but It's heavy, loud, I don't usualy take the boat on big lakes, so Its a bit overkill. I sold it too my dad for his speedboat. It will work nice on that.
I went for another ride today-Last edited by Guest; 02-12-2013, 08:31 PM.

Took a personal day to take care of a few things. The sun was out for a while, and the temp hit the low 40s. Took a quick ride. The photo is of my childhood local ice cream shop.sigpic

well HJFisk stopped by today to look at the 1150, He passed on it so I decided to take it out for I haven't ridden it since Novemeber... Ran good! the first 5 miles was a bit rough(I may have put allooooot of stabil in it) but after stopping to the gas station and filling her up she ran great for another 25 miles. Brisk but the full fairing sure is nice to protect against the wind...

I feel SPRING COMING!!!

Fairings....I offically became a sissy years ago when i rode my brothers ninja 900 on a chilly summer night. Sissy or not , it does extend the riding season a bit which is great.sigpic

Friday I rode my gs750, then yesterday got out on the gixxer, so today went up Island to go dirt biking. Went with a guy who just bought a 2013 KTM 300. Sweet bike, a little out of my price range.
What an awesome place to ride, even saw a little snow on the ground at the top. Beautiful!!
I'm feeling more confident on the WR...

Nice scenery Trevor and that looks like hours of fun!
I did my commute again today and it was a little damp. I discovered my video camera's jerkiness may be the video card so I tried one out of my mobile phone and to my delight it looks like the issue is solved! Now to get a 32GB one that is smooth and I'll be laughing.
Here's the *first smooth* video from my camera, a couple of minutes of my... moist... commute home this avo'...

Hi,
I didn't ride yesterday because a "winter" storm passed through and dumped rain on the lowlands and a bunch of snow in the local mountains. However, it is a beautiful day today. I had a "brisk" ride into work this morning. My local bank thermometer said 39*F.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Hi,
It's just a little dribble. It's been like that for almost two years now. The bike has about 65,000 miles on it but it's running great. I hate to tear it down while it's running so well. I'm thinking of just being lazy and maybe waiting until about 80,000 miles to refresh the top end and replace all the gaskets. Every time I see Ray or Bill they ask me, "Hey! When are we going to fix your engine?" One of these days, one of these days.Originally posted by Larry D View PostIs your base gasket leaking a bit Cliff ?

Thank you for your indulgence,

You've got bluer skies than we do at the moment Cliff! Lots of rain and showers at the moment although it was nice to ride into work yesterday morning with blue sky.
I'm just hoping it clears up in time for March 2nd!1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Nice one! I'll say nice bike too
As for me, yeah I got out for a test ride with the final tuning adjustment... needles at full richness (two notches richer than stock) and I'm absolutely stoked!
No hesitation or stumbling and I didn't notice any pops on decel once she was warmed up. Like a new bike!
Here's today's test ride video... and you'll also see my new memory card has solved the jerky footage issue I had previously
