Made it to Bedford and wouldn't you just know that it started raining as soon as I hit the city limits. I mean c'mon, what's a trip to Bedford without rain.
I can't really complain though as it was just a drizzle. Actually felt good and then the sun came out and the humidity shot through the roof.

Consider it done. He had me sign the back of the hotel replica that Scott presented to him. It's on full display at the front desk.

          Edit: nice work Scott.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of our two old GS1000s. We put a couple hundred miles on them and they ran like they did back in 78 and 79. Well close anyway.

300+ miles to there one way, and then back . . . but with van & trailer . . . to retrieve/rescue Justin Redmanson.

He went there Thursday, but made over 400 mile ride of it to get to Sault Saint Marie.
Then did 1000 mile loop around Lake Huron on Friday.
Then 1000 mile loop around Lake Superior today. (Iron Butt crazy stuff.)
ANd now tire that was kinda close to wear bars is now showing cords ....opps.....
He is embarrassed, maybe I should not be telling on him.
I'll not harass him, er, um, not too much anyway.
                  Update:

I headed north with van/trailer at about 7am yesterday. Intending to go to Sault Saint Marie (325 miles, northern UP, another mile is Soo Locks and Canada).

Justin felt confident enough to head south about 50 miles to St Ignace, slowly on local roads, and then also to cross Mac Bridge, maybe not the best/safest idea, but saved us about 3 hours and me crossing bridge twice.
I meet him in Mackinaw City about 1145.

We Loaded up his bike (having the "IronButt, Worlds Toughest Riders" license plate bracket well visible. hee hee).

Although I thought I deserved BBQ or something for my efforts, was this hot dog place nearby. I dispatched him to go place order at the hot dog place, and I would finish packing up. But really I was just sending him away, so he would not see me mount this sign on back of trailer.

"Worlds Toughest Rider sometimes needs Dad's help."

                  He didnt see it.
                  And we headed south.
Had about 6 hours together, mostly him telling me about happenings on his recent days rides, and situation with the tire. He did talk some about new job this last year, and some about the kids. So good time together.

He didnt see the sign even when stopping for gas or rest stops and checking tie downs a few times. .
Although he did comment about people passing us on highway giving us waves or stares or smiles.

Got him home, I stalled dropping the tailgate untill he noticed the sign.
Yah, It was kinda funny, yah, a little bit of harassment. But that is about all that I harrassed him.

By time I got home was almost a 12 hour mission, 560 miles
And a short time later, he had both wheels off, and tires on order.

                  .

I rode out to my younger daughter’s place to help put up some items on the wall but didn’t stay as she wasn’t as ready for me as she should have been. So headed home with the only intention to hit one road next to her place. Wasn’t very fun staring into the sun around some of the curves but I made it through safely.

Although I connected the GPS, I didn’t set a route home. Instead I went back to old school riding and just randomly turned the wheel. It made for a great 140 mile ride though dodging two fauns and laughing at a mother raccoon acting like the rear guard of a retreating army just enhanced it.
