Just some local commuting to and from work for me, mostly on my new-to-me '95 Sportster 1200 that I picked up this winter for a great price.

      Oh, Grisha, how could you!?

      Just kidding looks like fun.

Are you going to make it to the Brown County Rally this year?

And I still owe you and your brother lunch at Kavkaz. Next time you’re crashing through the woods of Central PA, give me a shout.

Hey Rich! Unfortunately we're going to be driving out to NY to visit my parents the weekend of the rally this year :/ My one "big ride" I've got planned will be in late July to ride out to the AMA Vintage Days at Mid Ohio then a loop south/west down to Kentucky to meet up with my family (which had scheduled a vacation over-top my planned trip). It's just a really tough period of time in my current stage of parenthood to sneak away to ride motorcycles it seems! We've got another on the way due at the end of October so that will likely really put the kibosh on my riding for a while lol

As to the Harley, man don't knock it til you try it. For local/shorter riding, I'd say it's perhaps the most fun, visceral, "elemental" machine I've owned, short of my DR650. Ever since I had tried out my '80 Low Rider (AMF era shovelhead) the "potato-potato" thing got imprinted in my brain it seems. The Evo sportster is all of the fun of that old shovelhead at 1/3 of the price (paid $2000 for the sportster this winter with just 11k miles and fresh tune up and tires on it versus $6k for the Low Rider that I had to do a full tune up and tires on).

Sound like you got a full plate. Spend the time with your kids while they're little. They don't stay that way for long.

Finally got a few miles on the '79 GS850 that has been my winter project.

Now if I can just get a few more miles on it!

Mid-upper 60s this afternoon, (after couple weeks of cold and rain and wind....)

Got out for about an hour ride.

Got sprinkled on for just a few minutes.

Nicest day in weeks. Had to stop at butcher shop for some good burger to grill out.

                  Hey!
                  Finished the intake boot swap…..
Out for ride early this afternoon…..
GK had not been out since early last summer.
Idle seemed to do as should (but barley 50degF out).

Really looking really good, a "77" GS750 spoke model was my first real bike, still a little soft spot for them. Congrats.

That's how it seems to always be with the old bikes. Perhaps the worst form of "neglect" with them is to let them sit! Thus I've slowly learned to keep a smaller fleet, given my limited time available to ride.

My exact thoughts as well.....I just sold two bikes and considering a third bike to sell for that very reason....they need to be used.

Near 60 by noon. Nicest day in weeks. Hey! Go for ride.

Found a reason, er, excuse, ah, reason to go to Muskegon (about 20 miles north).
THen decided to go inland, maybe if go 20-25 miles inland could find some peach or apple or cheery orchards, maybe blossoms in bloom.
Then Wandered around many different ways. I followed my front fender, deciding which way to go based on what could see from each intercection. Temps got into upper 60s.

Found several orchards in bloom. THree of which could get bike in.

Wandered around some more, before starting to head back towards home.
West then south then west then south till find a road that somewhat familiar with.
Got sprinkled on a couple times. Got light rain for a couple minutes. Temps back down to mid 50s by time get back to home closer to Lake Michigan.

Not a lot of miles, but was good to be out and about on bike for 2 1/2 hours or so.

                          .

                            And... Today....

Maybe only the 2nd time so far season that I have taken the bike for my morning outting......

I said "is a big difference between 45 and 40, is 45.... yah, take bike for my morning outting".

Rode further out of town, then into town and cruise beach see whats going on, downtown for coffee shop, then out and around and back home.

Hum, later I was thinking that I used to say big diffference between 35 and 40....... hum.....

                            ..

I got the Norton's clutch and carbs sorted out, took for a ride, me on Suzuki half the ride, switching with my son. I hadn't ridden the GS in a couple of weeks, and it was perfect as always. No fuss, no muss, started right up and ran like a Swiiss watch. The Norton rode well too, now it will go up for sale to help the widow pay for the late owner's funeral. Just paying things forward by helping her get that derelict bike ship-shape.
