Riders Twas the night before Christmas

    From me to everyone -

Twas the night before Christmas ,And all through the garage ,
The rider?s not stirring, he needs a massage
The batteries were hooked to their tenders with care
With blankets and covers draped over fenders and chairs.

The bikes were stood upright; all on their stands
While visions of corners made sweaty his hands
With Ma in her doo rag and I in my chaps
We settled down for the long winters nap.

When out on the drive there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my lounge chair to see what was the matter.
Away to the front porch I flew in a flash
Tore open the screen door and kicked the old cat.

The lights on the billboard illuminated to show
And the warm days of summer on shining new chrome.
When what to my watering eyes should appear ,
But a new style bike and some adventuring gear.

With a little rear tire and a small peanut tank
I knew I needed a trip to the bank
The new bike was costly and worth every bit
But my savings had dwindled ? my credit was ****.

As wet leaves in a corner will lie
It was clear this Bike I just must buy!
So off to see ?she who must be obeyed?
A little slippery talk, and promises made.

And then in a twinkling I heard her loud screams ?
Ain?t no way , we can?t do it , not in your dreams !
And I knew that my hopes had been completely crushed
Clumsily asking for money , exuberantly rushed .

And into the garage I went to recover
The dream of a new toy was really quite over.
And then I heard the truth bell a-ringing ?
My old bike was waiting once summer was springing.

So I sat on my bike and made sounds ?vroom vroom?,
And this helped me assuage my deepening gloom,
Winter was too long , but shorter than death
And if it got too cold I would just hold my breath.

Spring time was coming of this I was sure
And riding will be back , it will be clean and pure.
And around the bend we go , we will lean out to the side
Wishing all a Merry Christmas and to all a good ride!
