    Black Chrome Restoration

    Hi, I finally got my 2700 miles 86 GS550ES running correctly. It is in great shape but age has shown up in a few areas. I would like the black factory chrome exhaust re chromed black. I have emailed everyone I can find in the country. I cannot find anyone willing to take this on. They are non damaged, no rust, just want them to look new. Same for the wheels. They have no damage, I just want them redone to look new. Any suggestions? I have done ALL I can do at the "in home" level. I want them manufactured to showroom condition.

      It's hard to find companies that will chrome exhaust systems because carbon can leach out from the inside and contaminate the chrome and stripping baths. Sorry, but I don't have any suggestions.

          Seems like that would be the holy grail of restoration. Black chrome. It?s come up numerous times. Never heard a positive result. Very best of luck.

              I would contact Nitroplate and get them to send you some info/pics on their "Bright" ceramic coatings. Maybe they do it in black as well.
              Lots of Honda guys searching for the elusive black chrome as well.

                  Try to search for places doing it in India. Pretty lax laws there for some industrial processes.. Narrow the search to include Indian websites only. This is one place.

                  Sure shipping is going to hurt but cheap freight or better yet see if you can buy a set on ebay there and lighten the burden.
