are the gs dash's interchangeable?I need gauges for my 81 gs 650e,and I found a couple gs750 dash's, and a couple 550 dash's. But no 650's. They look almost identical and I'm wondering if I could substitute one for the other. Can i put a gs750 dash on my gs650e without any modifications? Asking before i buy. ThanksTags: None

There are a lot of different 750 gauge clusters since the model spanned so many years and models, regardless though, I doubt any will be a direct bolt on for your bike.Originally posted by Macdiggity View PostCan i put a gs750 dash on my gs650e without any modifications?Ed

The 81 550T and 81 650G share the same center dash cover as your E.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

Apples and oranges here perhaps......but I swapped my 750EF and 1150 gauges and it was pretty much plug and play with the exception of the gear indicator. Even the mounts lined up perfectly.

I'd say if you find something from the same year you will probably be OK. 550 ones would be the pick IMO.Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

 Past:
 VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....
