I am happy to see the post - and I explored the links from Facebook.

My business is nearly impossible to do without being on Facebook, Instagram , Snap-chat, Google Plus, Twitter and whatever else comes along
Real estate and the next wave of buyers push us into the place they interact --
Half of my transactions this past 2 years have been with the under 30 age group -
They do not talk on the phone, they text- they email - they google and social media -
The review and crowd source everything they spend money on -
I personally enjoy interacting with them as it keeps me in touch with the miraculous age we live in.
I can do without them -- but my life is better with social media and instant communications

    I am PLUGGED IN
    Currently in the Stable :
2002 Honda Goldwing GL1800 Sunburst Pearl Orange
    1983 Suzuki GS850 GL Blue & Black

I heard yesterday that there is a “tech generation gap” growing between generally older FB users and the younger kids using Snapchat, Instagram, etc.

I actually had an Instagram account (linked in my signature)before FB after my 50 something year old cousin convinced me that it’s a cool spot to share pics. I enjoy the fact that it’s all image based and have seen some absolutely wonderful photography, enough so to inspire me. I don’t enjoy every 7th post being an ad, but it’s the nature of these things

I've avoided Facebook for the longest time so I didn't get contacted by all my high school buddies. They started a page and apparently still act like they're teenagers. Surely one can set filters or whatever, just haven't looked into it.

Ha, I avoided it to keep away from certain elements of my extended and not so extended family. So far so good. I regularly delete certain suggested friends items, although only one that I don’t care for has popped up so far.

Oooooh kayyy and now the creepy part.
Went to a store this evening with the wife. I’ve never been there before.. ever.. never even heard of it.

Going thru Instagram earlier, a post (ad) from the store popped up. Coincidence? I doubt it.

I get requests from Google to rate the places I've been. Yep, we're being tracked. Funny a little unknown store would utilize that kind of data though.

During the 20th century, a common theme in science fiction was the government implanting a chip in people to track their movements.

Mid-30s here...I loathe FB but its great for tracking AWOL soldiers. Easy to get in contact with relatives that know where they are hiding. And to catch them faking illnesses but posting skydiving selfies.

Virtually every one of my Soldiers has it and they all pretend that its outdated junk. Somehow, they can't stop posting to it and barely realize how available all of that data becomes.

Yeah...soldiers have an acute understanding of practical physics but typically have a weak grasp on technology. Its a battle we fight daily....

Facebook lost $120B in market cap today. Biggest one day loss in history. Of course the stock had risen beyond all reason in the last few years so this should be seen as a "correction" I suppose. Anyway, unless the Facebook big wigs find ways to generate more $ from the traffic it's more dark days ahead.

I use Adblock on Facebook, including on the Dolphin browser on my iPad (best way to avoid YouTube ads!) so Fakebook gets nothing from me ad wise. Selling my data wouldn’t be very fruitful either, lol.
