    longer logged in time needed

How do I set it up to stay logged in longer? Sometimes it takes me a long time to type or I take a phone call and when I come back and finish my thread , I have "timed out". It then makes me log in and the thread is lost.

Sign out and when you retype user name and password click on the "remember me" square....see if that works.

I'm no computer guy so I don't know if there's a way around it.
I used to type small novels and got timed out a few times and it was really frustrating. One day my son told me to "save" what I've typed before submitting it. That helped a lot.
I notice now that a yellow highlighted box shows up in the lower right side of the reply box that says "auto saved". It shows up several seconds (15 ?) after no typing activity. It's only on a couple of seconds. So this site is saving what you typed but I'm not sure how you retrieve your message if it appears to be lost.
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

Check the box. I never log out and I always have a GSR tab open. I'm on here fairly often, but I left to pick up an engine for another member and 6 hours later i jumped right back at it. Also let your computer remember your password. It's not like it's a security risk if someone gets on your computer and visits GSR.

That has happened to me before, actually a lot. I would write something that I've really put some thought into, only to have to leave before finishing and then come back and finish and submit to find out my token has expired. That is really frustrating, but often if it has been auto saved, so refresh the page and then when you hit, reply it often has a restore content button pop up in the lower left corner of the reply box. Click on that and what you typed up to the last auto save will return. I wish we had a save button we could use manually, it would make things simpler if you have to step away.

If you going to take that long why not just compose your post in notepad or some such program then simply cut and paste when you're ready to post.

Hit Auto save when it comes up? How do you recover it? I have saved my password and "remember me". I'm also severely computer challenged.

There will be a button that appears on bottom left corner that says "restore auto saved content". If you've seen the yellow auto save pop up and go away, it should pick where you left off after hitting the restore button.

I just sent this as a test. I see the yellow auto save pop up in the lower right corner of the reply box, but there is no "restore button" anywhere.

I wonder if this is a browser issue. I keep about a dozen tabs open and only turn my computer off about once a week for a reboot and maintenance. And when I reboot I'm still logged in.....Never been logged out ever........

After you see the auto save thing you should be able to close the browser or go to another thread and then upon returning, if you click on the blue reply to thread button at the top the restore auto saved content button will appear.
