Then about 40 minutes later on surface streets 2 miles from home and near a brewery, actually 3 places with craft brew right next to each other, a car pulls out from a parallel parking spot, eases out into the closest lane of two, moves forward a car length, then...attempts to do a U-turn. I'm in the inside lane, watch him pull out, heading the same direction I am, I look at his front tire turning left, oh he's easing into my lane, no he's doing a U-turn. Handful of front and rear brake, thinking he's just switching lanes, nope. I initally braked thinking this was the case, but his front tire was turning sharply left, then the whole side of his car was in front of me. My front wheel was 4 inches from the middle of his driver's side door which was rolled down. Apparently I didn't have time to pull in the clutch, as I thought he was just switching lanes and just braked. The bike stalled in 2nd.
He says "I'm so sorry, are you okay?" I said I'm fine and glad I was paying attention and he says "me too!"
