GS100OG seat base common to chain drive GS1000?

Anyone able to confirm if a gs1000e seat fits a gs1000g, or if a gs850 one fits?

I cant answer that specifically, but I can say that most GS seats prior to 82 had hinges on side and latch on on other side, and 82 and after had latch on back and mounting brackets on front.

Picking up a 1980 GS1000G on Saturday but needs a new seat and there is a good base from an e model for sale hence the question
