    New GS1100ES Owner

Hi All, Just got an 83' GS1100ES. Its an Iowa bike imported into the UK in 2019. As far as I can tell its not turned a wheel since then. No big plans other than a light recommission then ride it for a while. Overall it doesn't seem to bad. Battery is fubar and the rear caliper is siezed. Theres some 'interesting' wiring been done and what looks like a new RR been fitted. The engine has a top end oiler kit fitted and has obviously been apart at some time however good news is when I put some fresh fuel in it today and hooked up a good battery she fired right up. Probably going to need a carb clean but running and sounding mechanically quiet is a bonus!

    Welcome to the site, Zooks.
Nice looking bike. Rare to see a stock exhaust these days.

Congrats, Looks really nice. These old bikes in mostly all orig. condition are hard to find. You did good, and Welcome. Just a thought, it's not ran for a long while, glad it wasn't a problem to get it going. If it were mine, I'd run a can of the best fuel system cleaner additive I could find through it. It may not help a thing, but I sure never heard of it hurting anything. We have one called Seafoam that seems to have about the best reputation.
