    Why hello there.

    Write something

Just letting you know I am here.
I personally feel lurking is more enjoyable if people think I may be doing so at any given time.

Have not ridden in several years and felt I needed more projects in life. ; )

Just brought my gs from another state where I have been storing it for several years and it is around the same shape as when I had originally bought it from some guys driveway where it had been parked for several years.

Thankfully from knowledge gleamed from this site and a few other sources I look forward to the labors ahead of me.

She has never been pretty and that will not change.
Always been a daily rider doing its part to ease my stress while adding extra protein to my diet.
    (Grinning while riding)

Looking forward to sharing a few storys with people I see have made their way back here.
    Cheers

P.s. I am not yelling, Just speaking a bit louder for all the other old farts that don't hear so well. ; )

    Hey Crank,

Thanks for the big font on a foggy Sunday morning. You have profiled us well if you think we are geezers. You might have to get a bit more personal with details about your GS and even drop a photo so the geezers here won't think you're a political refugee from a fictitious country whose family has been kidnapped for ransom.

Once the bike is running tip top you can knock off one beautification project a year and soon it will be gleaming!

Do I still need a photo bucket account to post picts? Have always been and likely will always be a bit slow on tech things.

I left after one of the times they banned Chuck.
I was getting bored with some of the back and forth banter and spending more time as a keyboardist then living it.

And she is not meant to be a beauty. But she will get thorough cleanings to different areas at different times as it helps me keep up on her maintenance.

You are one of the names I recognize from days past Dave.
      Hope all is well.

And I know the larger bold print is easier to read from my own perspective ; )

Yes, you still need an account somewhere to host the pictures, but most here are of the opinion that the name Photobucket is misspelled. Take out the b and install an f.

I have not kept track of what the current favorite is, as I don't post any pictures.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Welcome back. I have no problem with the bold font. As long as you don't yell in ALL CAPS, we're good.

As for posting pictures. I've written a tutorial for using free pic hosting sites and using them to copy the BBCode to paste into your forum posts. It's linked in my signature. If you can't see my signature, we can discuss that later. Go to this thread and jump to post #6. All the sites I mention, I believe are still free, last I checked. Imgur and Flickr seem to be the most popular. Stay away from photosuckit [sic].

There's an exception to every rule, Trevor. It is the one site that I hear a lot griping about, and so many photobucket pics show up with huge watermarks on them that make them useless (not yours, Trevor) Do you pay for photobucket? How much? Maybe the watermarks only show up if/when you let the subscription lapse?

                    From Wikipedia:
In late June 2017, Photobucket dropped its free hosting service, and started requiring a US$99 annual subscription to allow external linking to all hosted images, or a US$399 annual subscription to allow the embedding of images on third-party websites, such as personal blogs and forums. This policy change, enacted with minimal advance notice, has been highly controversial. Even years after abandoning free accounts, Photobucket keeps sending email "offers" that variously attempt to cajole or threaten users to switch to the paid plan.[4][5][6]

At its peak, Photobucket employed 120 people and accounted for 2% of American internet traffic. In 2019, the company employed 10 and ranked approx. 1,500th according to Alexa.[7][8]
Yup, $99 just to link, $399 to embed photos. Of course almost nobody paid up.
It was a mess...every forum I belonged to lost valuable information. Build threads, tutorials, ext., were broken.
I already had a Flickr account, so I moved there. And later I added an account at imageshack for normal forum stuff.
It is a paid account, though. I am grandfathered in at $18.99 a year. A new account is much more.

There was definitely a Big Ritch here. He was a GR 650 fan I recall. Regarding PB- I keep getting emails telling me that my photos are about be permanently deleted..
