New member, almost a new owner...

    Hi all.

In the process of buying an '82 GS650G (16k miles)...current owner is scheduled to ride-n-fly it to me in a couple of weeks. Just a little bit of polishing, and it should look like-new again.

Was that on Craigslist in Vermont a while back?

Not sure...current owner is in FL, and got it from his late friend's estate (presumably also in FL).

Looks like some imaginative clutch cable routing, though. Never seen the cable routed exterior to the engine like that before.

I noticed that...my best guess is that when the current owner got the bike and pulled the carbs to clean them, he buttoned everything back up before he realized the cable was mis-routed.

More likely it's the wrong cable and it's too short.
              Beautiful bike.

Welcome! I have the same bike. The cable is routed wrong. I like to SS brake lines.
