Looks great! An uneasy vulnerable feeling it is to check for traffic only find you have no mirrors. I did that once also.

It scared the ignition sparks out of me

some years ago i bought a Reevu helmet with built-in rear view mirror.

It's not perfect, like on bumpy roads the mirror trembles and you can't see.
But it beats just rear view mirrors and i love it, never want to do without it again.

Interesting concept, as an added measure i think.

W've owned a number of Vanagon (T3) Westfalia conversions, including a 4WD. I thought it was funny how the T3 was built in Germany, then shipper to Austria to Styer Damiler Puch for the Synchro 4WD conversion, then back to Germany for the Westfalia conversion. They were well traveled before they were sold. I keep an '84 Westfalia in Maine, USA and one in California, USA for use when I visit there. I know that in Europe and South Africa a lot more options were out there.
