    First post, First project

I've been lurking on the forum for a couple of months now. Finally I had some time to take photos and work on my '78 GS550 E. So I figured it was time to introduce myself. In the offline world I go by Richard cause that's my name. I reside in the Florida panhandle. A personal trainer and LMT by trade, but motorcycles are my hobby. I hold a motorcycle technician certification, but soon realized that I wanted a hobby and not a career. The GS is not my first ride. That honor belongs to a '98 Ducati Monster 900 whom I dearly miss.
I've already gleaned so much info from the forum and various links and look forward to meeting some great people. I hope you enjoy the pics. Your insight, ideas, hacks, criticism, and ribbing are welcome.

              Welcome to the site, Richard.
Look at the size of that garage! You need more bikes!
I know it is a very small thing but the cam caps protected by a cloth, when on the floor is a nice thing to see.

For now it's just parts. I'll have to post a picture of the "work" the last guy did on the carbs. It was a massacre.

Welcome to the forum. My '78 started out as a basket case and thanks to GSR I have a really nice bike. I hope your project is as successful. Here are some links to what can be done. Unfortunately I can't find any pictures as it was when I bought it. : https://goo.gl/photos/nqAqZUJUWKwCmehS9 https://goo.gl/photos/8yq3qYhEd857Pb1B6
