Rode a little as a teenager till I spent time under a bike going down a long hill. 30 Years later and having lost a couple hundred grand more than I had in a divorce, the only way I was going to be able to afford food after paying alimony and child support was to pick up a motorcycle to drive for on the road sales. I bought a 1982 GS650 with around 12K miles and fell in love with thing. I threw a milk crate on the back to hold my computer bag and it has served me well.

My girlfriend loves bikes and loves to come home with a motorcycle she "bought" for me that all I have to do is make payments on. I got a 2003 Harley Sportster and a 2005 Victory Jackpot on her plans but did not like them and sold them both. Her newest bike I had to buy outright because she is a little over extended with her 2014 BMW 335i, 2005 Corvette Convertible and 2009 Custom Victory Vegas Jackpot. That bike is a 2013 BMW G650GS which I love and commute on now.

In January of 2014 a great friend of mine died of a heart attack at age 59. He was a big supporter of the armed forces and has a Son-in-law that flies the A-10 Wart Hog. I bought his 1999 KLR650 from his estate and restored it with desert camo paint and the Wart Hog nose art. He would love it. It has been really beat (he was not into maintenance) so it is my winter bike.

This summer I picked up a 1979 GS550E Barn bike. I hope to make it into a cafe racer. About 3 weeks ago I picked up a 1980 GS550E that was converted into a cafe racer on the cheap. I just have to figure out the proper air fllter and jetting for it.
00V0V_g0x2dUlXb1v_600x450.jpgI also have to paint it whatever color scheme my girlfriend wants because I guess it is hers 'cause she thinks it is cute.

I joined this forum because I will need help with the two 550Es and I just love the old GS bikes period. My favorite dream bike would be a Hayabusa, but I would not trust myself on one.
