New GS 550E owner introduction in Perth Western Australia

Hi Guys/Girls ,

I am new to the GS forum , live in Perth ,Western Australia .

My background is Cars being a Panel beater and Mechanical Trade Assistant.

Have always loved bikes and have been riding since 7 yrs old (was a 70's honda 125 ) .

I have recently bought a non running un registered 81 GS550E for a project to keep my passion alive .

It was originally a import from the UK , so non Australian model and was registered as a 81 model (but was told by PO there were not sure of the YR/model when the licensing department in Queensland registered it .

It definantly isnt stock and was made into a cafe styled bike.

I am looking to go through everything mechanically and repaint the whole bike and make it mine.

Ill upload photos once i work out how to do it .
