    New Owner 1983 GS1100E

    Hello Everyone,

I just picked up an 83 GS1100E here in Phoenix, AZ. I got the bike for $950 mostly complete, pretty much just missing the side panels, needs a choke cable, and has a bit of an electrical glitch. I'll post up some pics later on. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about the bike and will be using the forums here to gain knowledge.

Thanks! I really like the styling of the early 80's sport bikes. Hopefully I'll be able to sort this one out quickly and have her back on the road.

Cool! Definitely needs some cleaning, but looks to be intact down to the original exhaust which is rare.
FYI, the side panels are notorious for having the mounting tabs breaking off, likely the reason there not there.

I was surprised by how complete it is. I don't think the seat is original, maybe from a different GS, and the sissy bar wont be going back on it. I also am not a fan of the current paint job, and the front fender being backwards....lol

Thats funny. I didn't notice the fender. The seat looks like a GS - L seat.

It's definitely not a stock 1100E seat, or at least the foam and upholstery on the pan isn't.
