    Buying a 1978 GS1000 low miles original...I hope

Hi my name is Mike, from WA. I may be a GS owner soon.
Taking off tomorrow to see if this bike is for real.
    1978 GS1000 with under 2,000 miles.
If it works out I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get.
    Great site and resource! Thanks

Look it over carefully - hard to tell from one small pic but I see a fair bit of corrosion on the engine cases. There's no doubt more under the surface and in a lot of ways this could make the low mileage irrelevant.
            Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

            Past:
            VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Were they double walled pipes on these? If so, that's not a good sign.....
