    1980 gs1100lt

It's been a few years since I checked in here but I'm planning on riding my GS next spring so started my winter project. I am the original owner of this 1980 GS 1100LT and I've got 3,713 original miles on it. I haven't licensed it in 10 years but did start it on occasion and it was running when I started this project. I'm working on painting the tank and side covers now and then will paint the frame later. All components of my bike are in good condition so I'll just be painting, buffing, and shining chrome and aluminum. The first photos was taken right before I started the project.

That's an awesome bike. I really like the seat. Is that a 16 valve motor? Keep us posted with more pics.

It is a 16 valve DOHC...only available in 1980 for the L model

The seat frame is stock but I did have it recovered about 20 years ago

Good that you are getting it back on the road.

        An original owner, wow.

Havent licened it in ten years. Looks like a new lift. Which brand is that?

        .

I picked up the lift the other day from Harbor Freight....with coupon it was $299.00 (without tax) and I am amazed at how much easier (and fun) it is to work on my GS.
