    Welcome to the site, Coats.
    If you haven't found them already, repair manuals and how-tos can be found here. http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/

    Has the front end been lowered on your bike?

      Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a 79 tank on it. Well you came to the right place.

        Welcome to GSR.

        I see you have the vise-grip-mod.

        THe question of 78 or 79 can be answered if it still has the foil tag on the steering neck, and if it is still readable.
        Will have a date of manufacture, but more specific information will be the model year code after the model.
        C=78, N=79

            What do you mean by a square tank? Like the 80-81 750/1100E tanks? If so I have one I'd be willing to swap with you. They will fit the 78-80 1000 frame.
