    Newbie says hello

Hello GS people! I bought my first GS in 1982 (1100E) It was shipped to me from Seattle to Kodiak Alaska still in the original crate. I rode it from AK to TX then to my duty station in Alameda CA. I always regretted selling it. I've owned modern missile bikes (ZX12R) but the GS was always my favorite. I just bought a 1980 1100E project bike as a father son deal so the fun begins! My name is Casey, I'm retired military and current overseas contractor. See you in the forums!

    Welcome to the site, Casey.
Fixing up an old bike is a great way to spend time with the kids.
Let's see a pic of your starting point.

I got two bikes, 80 1100E and an 83 1100GL Also 15 boxes of spare GS parts all for 1300.00! I plan on suspension upgrades ( hayabusa, bandit,gsxr...) and mild engine mods, mikuni RS carbs, mildport and polish, 1150 cams w/slotted cam sprockets. I think I'll keep the Kerker. I'll post a pic as soon as I figure out how. Thanks for the warm welcome!
