    New GS1100GL owner

    Greetings!

My uncle recently handed down to me his 82 GS1100GL, and while it’s not really my style, I had a vision of what it could become and I rarely turn down free motorcycles! Looking forward to asking some stupid questions, sharing my build and coming here for hard to find answers on this lovable tank.

    Do post some pictures.
Do ask away (maybe best to post question in appropriate section; electrical, carburation ect.)

Had 850G for 14 years. Now have GK since 2005.

Welcome. You say build. What’s the plan?

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

I used to ride an 82 1100GL. I'm one of the few around these parts that prefer the L.
It was a powerful bike but in the end I didn't care for the weight of it.

        Have fun!
