Just wanted to say hello. I'm returning to motorcycling in general after being out in the cold for a few years. I'm a 64 y/o retired hard hat diver/federal shipyard employee and just missed the grease and grime of having my hands in a motorcycle. I plan on riding a bit but spend more time on a couple of project bikes. I think I missed the camaraderie and friendships formed in the community more than anything. Anyhow I just bought a 1981 GS1100E with 49k miles and I'm pretty excited about it. I previously owned a new 1981 GS750EX (maroon) and a used 1983 GS1100ED (red). Here's a pic of the recent bike:

Welcome, I think you're gonna like it here. You'll want to create a signature with your bike specs in it then you'll never have to bother telling people what bike you have in your posts.

Such a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing.

I've taken a break from my bike...I'm 52 and I don't wanna wait too long before I get back on my bike.

I hope you enjoy it here. There are wonderful, helpful members here...so I'm not too worried about the assistance you'll get.

Welcome. Nice looking cycle. Looks like it needs more riding then wrenching. Enjoy.

Oh man, another guy riding My Old Bike. I had one just like that (black) back in the day, and I haven't been happy since I wrecked it. 8 (
